After 42 years in urologic practice, our founder, Dr. Thomas J. Mertz, MD. has gained the insight to reflect on how his profession can enhance patient care, prioritizing their time, income, and convenience to attain a kidney stone-free life through prevention.

Meet the head coach
Managing kidney stones has always been my main interest. When I started practice in 1979, stone management was crude by today's standards. Over the last 45 years, technology has made stone treatment minimally invasive. Little has changed with regard to stone prevention. Kidney Stone Free offers a pathway for prevention that respects a customer's time, work and income.
Retiring from traditional urologic practice created the opportunity for this novel, virtual counseling service.
